Drawing the Line

Now in its second season, Drawing the Line is a debate show on morality that fuses multiple elements in an effort to create a stimulating and energizing examination of South Africa’s moral fibre.

The first season of the show aired in 2008 and the current season will be on South African TV screens until July 2009. Lebo Mashile is the show’s host and plays the role of the Devil’s
Advocate. Each week in studio, a superb group of actors present a moral dilemma though dramatizations. Two teams led by Michelle Constant and Ndumiso Ngcobo debate the moral issue.

The debate takes place in three rounds, and at the end of each round, the studio audience votes.This season we learn where South Africans draw the line on contentious moral issues such as polygamy, violence in video games, road rage, vegetarianism, judging a book by its cover, shooting back in self defense and condom usage in committed relationships.
